| V.21 and V.23 Software Modems
(Low Speed FSK Soft Modem)
|
V.21
Encore’s V.21 module implements ITU-T
V.21 for data communication on PSTN. V.21 modem is FSK based modem
for speeds up to 300bps. This uses two distinct frequencies for
frequency shift keying. The center frequencies used are 1080Hz and
1750Hz for channel 1 and channel 2 respectively.
V.23
Encore’s V.23 module implements ITU-T
V.23 for data communication on PSTN. V.23 modem is FSK based modem
for speeds of 600bps and 1200bps. This uses two distinct frequencies
for frequency shift keying. The center frequencies used are 1500Hz
and 1700Hz. This supports a backward channel at 75bps.
- Adheres to all the mandatory features of ITU-T V.21 and
ITU-T V.23 Standard.
- Employs Frequency Shift Keying.
- Support for both V.8 and Non-V.8 procedures during mode startup
procedure for modulation mode selection.
- Tested against various impairment combinations using Telephone
Network Emulator (TAS).
- Currently V.21 and V.23 Modems are available on TI’s TMS320C64x,
TMS320C62x, TMS320C54x and Microchip’s dsPIC and ARM9 platforms.
